The Ride Subsidy Program
The Program
The Transportation Subsidy Ride Program, founded in 2014, has been set up to provide reimbursement for travel costs to medical facilities and hospitals as well as for social and educational opportunities within the Province of Alberta.

- Applicants must be residents of Red Deer or Sylvan Lake Alberta with a maximum single income limit of $24,000 per year.
- Travel may be by regular transit, Action Bus, Red Arrow Motor Coach, taxi, personal transportation, or any combination of these. A support person may also be taken along if required.
- The maximum that can be paid out in a calendar year is $150.00. Currently, we are reimbursing at 25% of travel costs or $0.10/KM.
- To receive your subsidy, you must complete the Red Deer Action Group Society Subsidy Ride Program Application Form, and include the following:
- Copies of all transportation receipts.
- Income verification (copy of tax return 'Notice of Assessment' for the most recent taxation year is preferred). You only have to show this once.
- A very brief description of the trips taken (except for regular transit or Action Bus travel.
- A signature of witness/caregiver required if applicant is unable to sign the application.
